Easy, Cheesy Quiche

This creamy, cheesy quiche is no hassle at all! Roll it out, mix the filling, splosh it all into the pie tin and you’re good to go. The puff pastry gives it a lovely golden, crispy and light crust. Children love to roll out the pastry and mix the filling ingredients, fun for all the family!

What you will need

  • 500g puff pastry
  • 3 eggs
  • 150ml double cream
  • 200ml milk
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3 tbsp caster sugar
  • 400ml double cream
  • 100g gruyere or other cheese, such as cheddar, portioned
  • 200g bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 50g broccoli, chopped and boiled for 1 min

Let’s get cooking!

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C / 400F
  2. Roll out the pastry into approximately 30cm (12″) square
  3. Line a 23cm (9″) loose bottomed quiche tin with the pastry. Alternatively you may use a fixed bottom pie tin which will need to be lined with greaseproof paper. Trim off any excess pastry
  4. Whisk together the eggs, cream, milk and nutmeg in a large jug
  5. spread the bacon, broccoli and half of the cheese over the bottom of the pastry base
  6. Pour the liquid mixture on top and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes
  8. Leave to cool for 5 minutes before removing from the tin
